REMANDED

Service connection for bilateral hearing loss.

REASONS FOR REMAND

In April 2019, the Board denied the claim. The Veteran appealed to the Veterans’ Claims Court. In June 2020, the Court Clerk vacated the Board’s decision in a Joint Motion for Partial Remand and remanded the claim for additional development. 

Specifically, in the 2018 Appeal to the Board, the Veteran reported that after receiving three audiological examinations in service, he appeared before a panel of officers in order to determine whether he was fit for active duty. However, the Court noted that documentation of this proceeding was not of record and that VA had not attempted to obtain these records. Further, the Court noted that the Veteran’s complete service personnel records were missing. 

The matter is REMANDED for the following action:

Obtain the Veteran’s complete service personnel records, to include the proceeding in which a determination was made as to whether he was fit for active duty due to 

hearing loss. If these records are unable to be obtained that should be document in the record.
