REMANDED

Entitlement to a compensable rating for service-connected hearing loss is remanded.

REASONS FOR REMAND

The Veteran served on active duty from June 1977 to December 1981.

The Veteran testified at a hearing conducted by the undersigned Veterans law Judge in April 2021. 

1. Entitlement to a compensable rating for service-connected hearing loss is remanded.

The Veteran was last afforded a VA examination to assess the severity of his hearing loss impairment in January 2019 but, during the April 2021 hearing, he testified that his hearing has worsened since that time. As such, the Board finds a remand is needed to provide the Veteran with a new VA examination to assess the current severity of his disability.

The matters are REMANDED for the following action:

Schedule the Veteran for an examination to determine the severity of his service-connected hearing loss. The electronic record must be made available to and reviewed by the examiner, and the examination report should note that review. Any indicated evaluations, studies, and tests should be conducted.
