REMANDED

Entitlement to service connection for diabetes mellitus (DM). 

REASONS FOR REMAND

In March 2021, the Veteran testified before the undersigned Veterans Law Judge.  A copy of the transcript has been associated with the claims file. 

The Veteran contends that he has been diagnosed with DM as a result of exposure to herbicides while serving in the Republic of Vietnam.  At the hearing, he testified that he was diagnosed with DM in December 2020 but did not specify whether this diagnosis was made by a private or VA physician. 

The only medical evidence of record is for VA treatment and current through October 2018.  Therefore, the appeal is remanded so additional VA, and if they exist, private treatment notes may be obtained.

The matter is REMANDED for the following action:

Undertake appropriate development to obtain outstanding, relevant treatment notes, to include VA 

 

treatment notes dated since October 2018 and any private treatment notes identified by the Veteran.
