REMANDED

Entitlement to a rating in excess of 10 percent for peripheral neuropathy of the left upper extremity is remanded. 

Entitlement to a rating in excess of 10 percent for peripheral neuropathy of the right upper extremity is remanded. 

Entitlement to a rating in excess of 10 percent for peripheral neuropathy of the left lower extremity is remanded. 

Entitlement to a rating in excess of 10 percent for peripheral neuropathy of the right lower extremity is remanded. 

Entitlement to a rating in excess of 20 percent for diabetes mellitus, Type 2 with erectile dysfunction is remanded. 

REASONS FOR REMAND

The Veteran served in the Army from July 1969 to July 1971. 

This case is before the Board of Veterans' Appeals (Board) on appeal from a June 2014 Regional Office (RO) rating decision. 

In April 2019, the Board remanded these claims for the RO to consider new evidence added to the record following issuance of a December 2016 statement of the case. 

1. Entitlement to a rating in excess of 10 percent for peripheral neuropathy of the left upper extremity is remanded

2. Entitlement to a rating in excess of 10 percent for peripheral neuropathy of the right upper extremity is remanded

3. Entitlement to a rating in excess of 10 percent for peripheral neuropathy of the left lower extremity is remanded

4. Entitlement to a rating in excess of 10 percent for peripheral neuropathy of the right lower extremity is remanded

5. Entitlement to a rating in excess of 20 percent for diabetes mellitus, Type 2 with erectile dysfunction is remanded

In July 2020 correspondence, the Veteran indicated that both his diabetes and his bilateral upper and lower extremity peripheral neuropathy have progressed and now require additional treatment. He was last afforded a VA examination to assess the severity of those disabilities in 2014. Thus, on remand, the Veteran should be provided an opportunity to report for a VA examination to ascertain the current severity and manifestations of his diabetes and upper and lower extremity peripheral neuropathy.

The matters are REMANDED for the following action:

Schedule the Veteran for an examination by an appropriate clinician to determine the current severity of his service-connected Type II diabetes mellitus and associated complications, to specifically include his service-connected bilateral peripheral neuropathy of the upper and lower extremities.  The examiner should provide a full description of the disabilities and report all signs and symptoms necessary for evaluating the Veteran's disabilities under the rating criteria.
