REMANDED

A rating in excess of 30 percent for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

REASONS FOR REMAND

Additional development is necessary prior to deciding the issue on appeal.  During the May 2021 hearing before the Board, the Veteran indicated that the symptoms of PTSD had worsened since his February 2018 VA examination.  

A new examination is warranted if there is evidence that the conditioned worsened since the last examination.  Weggenmann v. Brown, 5 Vet. App. 281, 284 (1993); Snuffer v. Gober, 10 Vet. App. 400 (1997).  As such, a new examination is needed to determine the current level of impairment.

The matter is REMANDED for the following actions:

1.  Identify and obtain any outstanding treatment records and associate them with the claims file.

 

2. Schedule the Veteran for an examination to determine the current severity of service-connected PTSD.
