Ms. Sarah Boardman is serving as Acting Medical Center Director effective November 3.
As the acting medical center director, Ms. Boardman's responsibilities include oversight of services at the Walla Walla site as well as four community based outpatient clinics and one primary care telehealth outreach clinic spanning 16 counties and 3 states. Services offered by the station include ambulatory medical and mental health care, specialty care services provided both on site and through telehealth technologies, and coordination of care with community providers for inpatient, diagnostic and therapeutic services. There is also an on-site 36-bed residential substance abuse rehabilitation treatment program and an active home-based primary care program.
Ms. Boardman began her VA career in 2009 at Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center in San Antonio, TX and served in various administrative roles across multiple health care systems in South Texas and the Pacific Northwest. In her role as the associate director at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center, Ms. Boardman maintained responsibility for administrative operations including engineering, finance, health care administration, police, supply chain management, environmental management and voluntary service.
Ms. Boardman earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from the University of Washington and holds a Master of Science degree in Management and Leadership.
