Ms. Kelley W. Anthony was appointed to serve as the Associate Director for Resources at the VA Washington DC Healthcare System on May 24, 2026.
Kelley W. Anthony, LCSW‑C, was appointed to serve as the Associate Director for Resources at the Washington DC VA Medical Center, bringing nearly two decades of proven VA leadership and operational expertise to one of the Department’s most complex and highly visible healthcare facilities. She is deeply committed to driving strategic performance, strengthening service delivery, and cultivating the collaborative teams necessary to advance exceptional care for Veterans across the region.
Ms. Anthony’s VA career reflects a consistent record of transformation, innovation, and service impact across medical centers, VISN operations, and national program offices. Since 2021, she has served as Assistant Director for the VA Maryland Health Care System, leading a diverse portfolio that included Canteen, Chaplain Service, Consumer Relations, Police Service, Prosthetics & Sensory Aids, Employee Education, Safety & Occupational Health, Supply Chain Management, Strategic Planning, and the Mid‑Atlantic Consolidated Patient Account Center (MACPAC). She also served as the senior liaison for the Perry Point VA Medical Center, one of the system’s major medical centers, championing operational alignment and systemwide collaboration.
Throughout her tenure, Ms. Anthony has led various services and enterprise‑level initiatives that strengthened access, quality, and Veteran experience. As a past HUD‑VASH Program Coordinator, she directed statewide efforts that helped more than 1,100 formerly homeless Veterans secure permanent housing — a milestone that significantly advanced Maryland’s mission to end Veteran homelessness. Her leadership has extended into roles as Executive Assistant to the Associate Director for Finance, as well as interim assignments at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center, the National Social Work Office, and the VISN 5 Chief Medical Officer’s Office. Her work has consistently supported Veteran Experience programs and multidisciplinary operational improvements.
Ms. Anthony is an U.S. Army Veteran who served with the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Carson, Colorado, from 1997 to 2001. She holds a Master of Social Work from University of Maryland School of Social Work and is a 2009 graduate of the VA Leadership Development Institute. She earned Six Sigma Green Belt certification for data-driven problem-solving in 2012 and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Ms. Anthony leads with a collaborative, people‑first approach focused on trust, partnership, and continuous improvement. She is dedicated to empowering staff, strengthening organizational culture, and delivering a consistently exceptional experience for both employees and Veterans.
