Ms. LaQuaita Pierce was appointed Assistant Director at the VA Washington DC Healthcare System on June 1, 2026.

LaQuaita Pierce serves as the Assistant Director at the Washington DC VA Medical Center, overseeing operations at six VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinics in the District of Columbia, and areas of Maryland and Northern Virginia. Prior to this appointment, she served as Acting Associate Medical Center Director for the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System.

A native of Washington, DC, Ms. Pierce holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland and an Executive Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She brings a diverse background in procurement, contracting, and movement science to her leadership role.

Ms. Pierce began her VA career in November 2011 as a Technical Career Field (TCF) Intern in Prosthetics at the Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center in North Hills, CA. Since then, she has held positions of increasing responsibility, including Assistant Chief and Chief of the Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS) in New Orleans, LA. In this capacity, she was instrumental in establishing and operationalizing the service line at the replacement medical center following Hurricane Katrina. Additionally, Ms. Pierce has served as Acting Associate Director for both the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System and the Alexandria VA Health Care System (AVAHCS).

Ms. Pierce is a 2025 graduate of the VHA Health Care Leadership Development Program (HCLDP) and is an active member of both the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Health Services Executives. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Ms. Pierce enjoys sports, exploring new cuisines, and spending quality time with family and friends.
