New Executive Director appointed to the VAWNYHS

Executive Director VA Western New York Healthcare System 
Danielle Bergman was appointed Executive Director of the VA Western New York Healthcare System on February 23, 2026.  Ms. Bergman began her VA career in 2007 at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center as a Human Resources Technical Career Field Intern, later serving as a Human Resources Specialist. She then joined VA Health Care Upstate New York – Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 2) in Albany, NY, as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist.  Following her tenure at VISN 2 Network Office, Ms. Bergman transitioned to the VA Western New York Healthcare System (VAWNYHS), where she held progressive leadership roles including Human Resources Manager, Assistant Director, and Acting Associate Medical Center Director. From July 2025 to December 2025, she served as Acting Executive Director at the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System.
Ms. Bergman is a graduate of the VA Health Care Leadership Development Program, the Federal Executive Institute and a Fellow with the Partnership for Public Service Excellence in Government program. A native of Western New York, she earned her academic credentials from St. John Fisher College, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Service Leadership Certification, as well as a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development.
