VFW recognizes two providers at Dole VA

Dr. Thuy Dang (L) and Dr. Katie Washburn (R) were recently recognized by VFW Department of Kansas for providing superior care to the Veterans served at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center.

Allen Owens, Surgeon for VFW Department of Kansas, visited on Friday, April 10, to recognize our staff for providing quality and compassionate care to the Veterans we serve.

Dr. Katie Washburn demonstrated exceptional care and compassion while seeing a Veteran during a Saturday clinic. Dr. Washburn spent several hours with the Veteran and his family members, providing meticulous and heartfelt care. Her conscientious and compassionate care ensured the Veteran received comprehensive and immediate attention.
Dr. Washburn’s role as a Pain Champion underscores her dedication to alleviating suffering and her ongoing commitment to professional excellence.
Dr. Thuy Dang provided care for a Veteran in a mental health crisis who was admitted to our medical center. Having worked the case since the previous evening and through the night, Dr. Dang stayed for multiple hours after her tour had ended to coordinate transportation to the appropriate level of care at another facility.
