Aurora VA clinic renovations nearing completion

Renovations being conducted at Aurora Community Based Outpatient Clinic

Aurora Community Based Outpatient Clinic, a part of Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, will soon almost double their space with the completion of renovations.

The clinic, which serves over 2,000 Veterans per month, will add an additional 4,000 square feet to their already 6,000 square-foot space.

“We’ve outgrown our primary care space,” said Shirl Roan, nurse manager at the clinic.

The renovation will add physical medicine and rehabilitation services to the clinic in addition to its current primary care and specialty health services, including mental health care, pharmacy, laboratory services, nutrition counseling and audiology already offered at the clinic, Roan explained.

“We’re a proud part of the Aurora community, and our Veteran neighbors deserve a VA clinic designed to treat their ever-evolving health care needs," said James Doelling, Hines VA hospital director. “This expansion will help us continue to provide high quality care to our nation’s heroes in their own backyard.”

The clinic expects phase one of renovations to finish in May, and the project completed in August 2024.
