Ivy Llonoso was appointed Associate Director of Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive of the Amarillo VA Health Care System in December 2022.
In this capacity, she is responsible for Patient Care/Nursing Services, Food and Nutrition Services, Sterile Processing, Education, and Chaplain Services. Prior to joining Amarillo VA Health Care System, Llonoso was the Chief Nurse Executive of Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, New Mexico, a service unit within Navajo Area Indian Health Service.
Llonoso began her career in 1996 in the Philippines as a registered nurse, soon after passing the Nursing Licensure Examination. She also worked as a clinical instructor for nursing and midwifery students before going to the United Arab Emirates in 2001 to work as a staff nurse at a Ministry of Health hospital there.
Llonoso immigrated to the United States in 2005. She worked at Lovelace Women’s Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for two and fourteen years, respectively. She had the opportunity to work in an array of specialty areas including obstetrics, gynecology, oncology, cardiology, neurology, and leadership, and brings to the organization more than 26 years of nursing experience.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bicol University in Legazpi City, Philippines, and her Master of Science in Nursing Administration from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Llonoso is currently working on her Master of Business Administration at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico.
