More than 800 Veterans gathered recently at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, GA for a PACT ACT Rally hosted by Warrior Alliance. Veterans were provided with information and resources offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration and Veterans Benefits Administration, the Georgia Veterans Service Office along with other local services.

“I can’t explain how great this event has been for me. This has been one of the best in terms of talking to the right people and getting things done,” said David Love, a Vietnam Veteran. “A lot of Veterans need to attend events like these.”

According to Mark Eister, Vice President of Operations for Warrior Alliance 800+ Veterans registered for the event with another 200 -300 attending as walk-ins.

“We want to make sure they file their PACT Act claim. Beyond that, we want to provide Veterans the opportunity to tell us what else they might need. So, we can provide services through our partner network for everything like homelessness to employment, to transportation and housing. Whatever they may need, we have partners who can help them. It’s not about competition, it’s about collaboration and working together with the community and other organizations doing what we can for our Veterans. These are our heroes, who said, ‘I will give my life for my country’. So now it’s time for us to give back to them,” said Eister.

“The information I received was valuable. I received information about how and why to apply for the PACT Act. It was a very good event and I enjoyed speaking with Women Veterans and others in the community receiving a lot of info and extra,” said Michelle Goodnight, of Dacular, who was accompanied by her husband and service dog, Mando.

Veterans also enjoyed a free continental breakfast and lunch at the event.
