"I get so much out of helping our Veterans and the medical center staff," shared a volunteer.

The Atlanta VA Health Care System is proud to celebrate National Volunteer Week from April 21 to April 27, 2024. This annual celebration honors the dedication and service of volunteers who selflessly give their time, energy, and resources to support our mission of providing quality healthcare to Veterans.

“Our volunteers are an essential part of our organization, and we’re thankful for all they do,” said Gwen Ramos, Atlanta VAHCS Center for Development & Civic Engagement chief.  “Their dedication, compassion, and generosity have a significant impact on the lives of our Veterans and their families.  National Volunteer Week is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude and appreciation for all they do.”

Betty Hanna said she decided to become an Atlanta VAHCS volunteer almost 25 years ago because she wanted an opportunity to reach out to Veterans in need. "I get so much out of helping our Veterans and the medical center  staff," said Hanna, a member of the local American Legion Auxiliary. "Everyone here makes you feel like you are a part of the team."

The Atlanta VAHCS invites the community to join the healthcare organization in celebrating National Volunteer Week and thanking its volunteers for their remarkable contributions.
