Four residents were honored for the completion of the PharmD Residency.

The 2024 Atlanta VA Pharmacy Residency Graduation Ceremony was held on June 18, 2024, in the Gathering Place at the Joseph Maxwell Cleland Atlanta VA Medical Center.

A total of four residents were honored for the completion of the PharmD Residency. The 2-year comprehensive training prepares the clinical pharmacist practitioners for managing and treating diseases at various developmental states upon graduation.

Proud practitioners include doctors Amelia Clary, Megan Maree, Hilary Spralling, and My Nguyen.

“It is bittersweet to see our post graduate PharmD residents celebrate completion of this chapter of their lives. I am thankful to all the preceptors for sharing their knowledge with the residents,” noted Dr. Kathy Davari, Associate Chief of Clinical Pharmacy Services and Pharmacy Residency Director.

The graduates were inspired by multiple speakers including Dr. Jeff Denner, Chief of Pharmacy Service, and supported by the AVAHCS Executive Leadership Team (ELT).

Graduate placements include health care systems within the Atlanta region, private practice, and one doctor is deciding on next steps.

“We wish our residents the best and hope they choose VA in the future. It was an absolute pleasure to be joined by leadership, preceptors, clinicians, and staff,” added Davari.
