BAY PINES , FL — Bay Pines VA Healthcare System leaders celebrated the opening of Ward 4-A at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Oct. 17.
“Today commemorates the latest modernization effort by our healthcare system, which reinforces our commitment to providing Veterans with the best facilities possible to receive their health care,” said Bay Pines VA Associate Director Sean Turner, following the ceremony. “As the needs of those we serve evolve, so does our responsibility to support them, and we are immensely proud of this project that epitomizes what a state-of-the-art inpatient area should be.”
Turner, who oversees facility management, construction, and engineering, stated the renovation was completed at a cost of $8.5 million.
Ward 4-A encompasses 14,250 sq. ft. of space with 24 handicap accessible private rooms, designed for patient privacy and comfort. Each room is outfitted with modern health care equipment including patient lifts and controllable lighting.
Additionally, each room offers patients access to the Get-Well Network which allows them full access to their charts and previews of upcoming tests and appointments.
“Veterans deserve the very best, and this project was an investment that we knew was critical to meeting that requirement,” added Turner. “We look forward to welcoming patients to this area later today and seeing the impact this renovation has on their health care journey.”
