The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System Interim Director/CEO is Ms. Kristine Brown.

Ms. Brown leads the tertiary health care delivery for Bay Pines VA Healthcare System which includes the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center, Lee County Healthcare Center, and seven VA Clinics, serving Veterans in 10 counties, across Southwest Florida. She brings 30 years of federal service to the position, providing direct leadership and oversight for strategic planning/communications, quality systems, compliance, Veterans experience, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

She joined the healthcare system’s executive leadership team in 2007 as assistant director and was promoted to associate director before being selected as deputy director in 2017.

Ms. Brown also served as the interim Bay Pines VA Healthcare System medical center director from 2011 - 2012 and was detailed to the VA Sunshine Healthcare Network as the VISN 8 deputy director. 

She began her VA career in 1994 and held several program management and administrative officer positions at the Joseph Maxwell Cleland Atlanta VA Medical Center and the Lt. Col. Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center, in Ann Arbor, Mich. Ms. Brown also served as the manager for VHA's National Information and Data Management Committee and as a communications analyst for the Office of Information and Technology at VA Headquarters.

Ms. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree from the University of South Florida. She is also board-certified as a public health professional and a 2009 graduate of the Veteran Health Administrations Healthcare Leadership Institute.
