VA Bedford opens new Withdrawal Management Program

PRESS RELEASE

August 2, 2024

Bedford , MA — We are pleased to announce the opening of the 6B DOM-SUD Withdrawal Management Program.

The mission of the program is to provide a variety of opportunities for Veterans to explore, develop, and learn skills necessary to pursue their individual recovery goals. The 6B DOM-SUD promotes a psychosocial rehabilitation model that emphasizes interventions and services that address the emotional, physical, spiritual, and social concerns of Veterans experiencing addiction. Services provided include but are not limited to withdrawal management, medical and medication management, intensive day treatment programs with both individual and group psychotherapy, peer support, rehab, and clinical case management. The average length of the program is 4 weeks but programming is individualized working in conjunction with their multidisciplinary team based on the specific goals, objectives, and recovery needs of the Veteran. Staff can use the MHRRTP consult to refer a Veteran for consideration of the program or Veterans can self-present to the MH WIC for same-day evaluation.

We are very proud to highlight that the VA Bedford HCS offers the full continuum of care for MH and Addiction Treatment and Homeless Services. Please don’t hesitate to contact the MHSL at 781-687-4685 if you have questions or need any additional information.

An official ribbon cutting is scheduled for mid-September.
