Our research programs

Our research department is internationally recognized for its study of geriatric and behavioral research. We use non-VA funding sources like universities and charitable foundations, and for-profit companies to fund our research and education. In doing so, we support the health and well-being of Veterans and the general population.

Our funding is administered by Bedford VA Research Corporation., Inc. (BRCI). BRCI is a stand-alone, non-profit, tax exempt corporation that receives no financial support from VA. Contributions to BRCI are tax-deductible. For more information about BRCI and its work supporting research at VA Bedford HCS, call 781-687-3588.

Million Veteran Program

MVP is one of the largest research programs in the world on genes and health. Researchers are using information from MVP Veteran partners to learn how genes, lifestyle, and military experiences affect health and disease. With an expected enrollment of at least one million partners, MVP provides an important opportunity to understand genes and health, especially among the Veteran population.

Participation in MVP is entirely voluntary and will not affect Veterans’ access to health care or benefits.

For more information or to join online, visit mvp.va.gov. Call the MVP Info Center toll-free at 866-441-6075 with any questions or to schedule an MVP visit.
