Jessica L. Kon, RN, MSN, CEN, is an accomplished healthcare executive with over 20 years of experience in clinical operations and organizational development.

Currently serving as the Deputy Nurse Executive at VA Bedford HCS, she brings a wealth of expertise in strategic leadership, change-focused initiatives, and continuous process improvement.

In the last decade, Kon worked as a Clinical Nurse at Southern Maine Medical Center and Central Maine Medical Center, where she honed her skills in emergency medicine, trauma, pediatrics, and critical care. She then transitioned to Tampa General Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, serving as a Charge Nurse, Preceptor, and Clinical Nurse, overseeing communication and patient flow in the Emergency Department.

Kon's leadership prowess was further demonstrated during her tenure at Florida Hospital, where she implemented protocols such as Early Goal Directed Sepsis and the Pediatric AHA Color Coded resuscitation cart, improving patient outcomes and team efficiency. At St. Joseph's Hospital-North, she excelled as an Advanced Clinical Education Specialist, overseeing hospital onboarding, clinical education, and standardizing policies and procedures across multiple hospitals.

Kon's exceptional leadership abilities were further showcased at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, where she served as the Nurse Manager of Emergency Services. In this role, she implemented innovative programs, including the Code Cart standardization across 14 hospitals, the Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program in the ER, and COVID-19 response strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and improving patient care.

At Milford Regional Medical Center, Kon served as the Director of Emergency Services, leading a team of over 180 licensed and unlicensed employees. She spearheaded initiatives such as implementing a metal detection wand practice, Patient Visual Communication Cards, and a Vertical Treatment Area in the ED, significantly reducing wait times and enhancing patient safety.

Kon's academic credentials include a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Executive Leadership and Hospital Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Petersburg College, and an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences in Nursing from Central Maine Community College.

Her professional affiliations include memberships with the Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association, Organization of Nurse Leaders, American Organization of Nurse Executives, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the American College of Emergency Physicians.
