Dr. Movitz is a staff psychologist for the Home Based Primary Care Program at the Bedford VA

She completed her doctorate of Psychology at William James College. Dr. Movitz completed her internship in Geropsychology at the Bedford VA Hospital and her post doctoral fellowship in Geropsychology within the Boston VA Health Care System.

Dr. Movitz served as a staff psychologist within the Hospice and Palliative Care Program at the Bedford VA from 2009 to 2013 at the Bedford VA. She was involved with the initial development of the Hospice and Palliative care program at the Bedford VA and is a certified ELNEC trainer (End of Life Nursing Education). Dr. Movitz also initiated and lead national calls for VA Psychologists working within Hospice and Palliative Care between 2009 and 2013.

Dr. Movitz subsequently served as the Psychologist within the Community Living Center and Hospice and Palliative Care programs at the Manchester VA from 2013 to 2015. 

During her time at the Bedford VA, Dr. Movitz has supervised practicum students, interns and residents completing their training across multiple settings including Outpatient Geriatric Mental Health, Community Living Center, Hospice and Palliative Care and Home-Based Primary Care.

Dr. Movitz has particular interests within the areas of health psychology, trauma-informed therapy, positive psychology, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and hospice and palliative care.

Outside of her time at the VA, Dr. Movitz holds a small private practice. She provides services on the Geriatric Psychiatry Unit at Nashoba Valley Medical Center.  In her spare time, Dr. Movitz enjoys hiking, boating, attending meditation retreats and spending time with friends, family and her two cats.
