Bedford, MA - Two VA psychologists, Dr. Johnny Lee from VA Bedford and Dr. Ariel Laudermith from VA Central Western Mass, have teamed up to produce a new podcast focused on helping Veterans quit using tobacco and nicotine products, like Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems, or ENDS for short.

With the assistance of the studio team at Billerica Access TV, the psychologists recorded 14 episodes for the podcast called "Odds and ENDS," which launched on Wednesday, September 27.

The psychologists designed the podcast specifically for providers who work with Veterans, equipping them with insights and techniques to better support Veterans in their journey to quit tobacco and nicotine. However, the podcast is also available to the general public interested in learning more about tobacco and nicotine cessation.

"Tobacco use remains highly prevalent among U.S. Veterans, posing serious health risks," said Dr. Lee. "Through this podcast, we hope to empower both providers and Veterans with valuable education and resources to successfully quit these products for good."

The 14 episodes cover a range of topics related to tobacco and nicotine, including the science of addiction, pharmacotherapy options, behavioral change strategies, policy implications, and more. Listeners can access the podcast through major platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher.

The psychologists said they were grateful for the support of Billerica Access TV in bringing the "Odds and ENDS" podcast to life. They hope the series will make a meaningful difference in equipping providers and, in turn, helping Veterans improve their health and wellbeing.
