The PACT Act is a historic new law that will help VA deliver care and benefits to millions of Veterans, and survivors, affected by burn pits and other toxic exposures. The Birmingham VA estimates that nearly 75,000 Veterans in Northern and parts of Central Alabama could apply.

The Birmingham VA Health Care System wants Veterans and survivors to apply for their PACT Act benefits and care right now.

The VA will begin processing PACT Act-related claims on January 1, 2023.

Join us for our PACT Act Awareness Open House December 15, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Birmingham VA Clinic located at 2415 7th Ave South, Birmingham, AL 35233.

Veterans or family members will have extra time if the Open House period needs to extend.

This event is to inform Alabama Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors about the PACT Act and encourage them to apply for the toxic exposure-related health care and benefits they have earned.

The event will include a 30-minute speaking program with Birmingham VA staff present to help Veterans apply for benefits, explain toxic exposure screenings, enroll in VA health care, and more.

Opening remarks will broadcast at 9 a.m. on Facebook Live https://www.facebook.com/BirminghamVAHCS/
