Peter H. King, M.D., chief of the neurology section of the Birmingham VA Health Care System (BVAHCS) was awarded the Wolcott Award for Excellence in Clinical Care Delivery by VA Deputy Under Secretary for Health, Dr. Steven Lieberman. King is also professor in the Department of Neurology, Heersink School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Shortly after high school in 2008, Alex Bruce enlisted in the Air National Guard as an Air Transportation Specialist while attending nursing school.
