VA Boston’s West Roxbury campus hosts Mass. Veterans Sec. Santiago

“We welcome the unique perspective Secretary Santiago brings as a physician and a Veteran who is still serving in the Army Reserve,” said Vincent Ng, director of VA Boston Healthcare System. “The close collaboration between VA and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans’ Services is critical to ensuring Veterans in the commonwealth receive the care and benefits they have earned, and I look forward to working with someone who has dedicated his life in service to both our nation and public health.”

Santiago met with Ng to discuss shared priorities in supporting Veterans’ health. Santiago also toured the campus and met with the facility’s clinical team, to discuss the care provided by the VA Boston, and expressed his strong support for their efforts to deliver quality health care to Veterans across Massachusetts.

“As our Veteran population evolves and their medical needs become more complex, it is imperative that they have access to quality care. I am grateful to Director Ng for providing a firsthand look at his and his team’s dedicated work. I appreciate their commitment to providing critical primary care, specialty, and emergency care services to our Veterans,” said Santiago. “The Boston VA Healthcare System team is a trusted partner that is deeply committed to the mission of Veteran care, guided by the needs of Veterans, their families, and caregivers.”

VA Boston Healthcare System offers a wide range of health care and services for Veterans at eight locations, serving Suffolk, Norfolk, Middlesex, and Plymouth counties. Facilities include medical center campuses in Brockton, Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury, Mass., and five community-based outpatient clinics in Boston, Framingham, Lowell, Plymouth and Quincy.
