VA Health and Benefits Fairs Coming to USVI May 25 and 27

Tampa , FL — The VA Sunshine Healthcare Network (VISN 8) in collaboration with the U.S. Virgin Islands Office of Veterans Affairs are holding health and benefits fairs for Veterans in St. Croix and St. Thomas May 25 and May 27 respectively.

The events are being held to educate and inform Veterans about the PACT Act and to provide onsite services to include VA health care enrollment, toxic exposure screenings, VA claims assistance, women’s health, mental health, whole health, Vet Center, patient advocate services, and more.
All Veterans are invited and encouraged to attend. Those interested in attending should bring a copy of their Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214), and valid identification. Details for both events are provided below.

The PACT Act is perhaps the largest health care and benefit expansion in VA history and brings these changes:
- Expands and extends eligibility for VA health care for Veterans with toxic exposures and Veterans of the Vietnam, Gulf War, and post-9/11 eras.
- Adds 20+ more presumptive conditions for burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic exposures.
- Adds more presumptive-exposure locations for Agent Orange and radiation.
- Makes toxic exposure screenings available to every Veteran enrolled in VA health care.
- Helps VA improve research, staff education, and treatment related to toxic exposures.
