Dr. Sandee Foster is the Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services.
Dr. Foster’s nursing career began 27 years ago as a Medical/Surgical RN in the private sector after graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her clinical experience includes patient care in the Medical/Surgical, Oncology, Emergency Department, Cardiac Step-Down and Cardiac Critical Care settings. As her career advanced, she became a Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department, Outpatient/Short Stay Unit and Employee Health.
After 14 years in the private sector, Dr. Foster joined VA in 2009. During her tenure, she has served Veterans as Patient Safety Manager Supervisor, Med/Surg Associate Nurse Executive, Chief Nurse Executive, and Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services.
Dr. Foster holds a Masters of Nursing Science from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Central Arkansas.
Dr. Foster is thrilled to return to her home states of Alabama and Georgia, where the majority of her family resides. She shares her day-to-day life with her husband, Scott and their three dogs: Boomey, Bert and Beacher.
