Columbus VA Arts Program Honored

The VA Central Ohio Health Care System’s Veteran Arts Initiative (VAI) was recently named winner of the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) “Employer Award” in recognition of its innovative arts programming designed to help veterans engage with the VA and its resources.

Columbus VA Holds Response Exercise

The Columbus VA will conduct a hazardous materials spill and evacuation training event on Fri., Sept. 23, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center on James Road. This is just an exercise. It is not a response to an actual threat.

Columbus VA Flu Shot Clinics for Veterans

The VA Central Ohio Health Care System opens its annual flu shot campaign for veterans starting Sept. 26. Flu shots will be available through November at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus, and at VA Clinics in Grove City, Marion, Newark, and Zanesville.

Columbus VA Festival Promotes Suicide Prevention

VA Central Ohio Health Care System is raising awareness and promoting suicide prevention during its first Veteran Fall Festival on Friday, Sept. 23, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at VFW Post 4719, 75 W. Johnstown, Road, in Gahanna, Ohio.

Director Named for Columbus VA

The Department of Veterans Affairs named Dr. Marc Cooperman as permanent director for VA Central Ohio Health Care System. Dr. Cooperman served as acting director since May 2021 and as chief of staff here since 2012. His official appointment as medical center director is effective Jul. 1, 2022.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has named Laura E. Ruzick as the new Network Director for Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 10, overseeing VA Medical Centers across Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and part of Kentucky.
