Care we provide at VA Cheyenne
The Behavioral Health Department offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including telehealth appointments. We provide consultation, evaluation, and treatment for a variety of issues impacting emotional well-being. Our services include:

- Homeless Veterans services
- Treatment for addictive disorders, including residential rehabilitation treatment programs
- Transition and care management for returning Veterans (OIF/OEF/OND)

Outpatient Music Therapy
This group uses various music therapy interventions to address symptoms r/t chronic pain, acute pain, mental health, substance use, grief etc. Examples of group goals include stress management, pain management, increasing self-esteem, building peer-support networks, and improving coping skills. This group will have a pain management, stress management, relaxation and mindfulness focus.

Yoga & Mindful Movement
This group utilizes standing, floor, and adaptive movements. Aim to bring our full attention to the present moment to experience the here and now. We bring our awareness to our movement and focus on our breath or the way our body feels as it moves. Equipment provided.

PCMHI Sleep Group
6-week sleep education class including CBT-I interventions for Veterans struggling with sleep. Must be appropriate for VVC and brief solution-focused care in a group setting.

Emotional Eating Group
8-week MH group comprised of CBT-E interventions for veterans struggling with emotional/stress eating patterns. The group will be both supportive and skill/psychoeducational. No specific diagnosis is needed. Must be appropriate for VVC and willing to attend with cameras ON.

Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO DBT) Skills
For veterans seeking skills to effectively regulate emotions, navigate their social environment, and manage crises. Groups include core mindfulness skills, allowing members to learn and practice living with full awareness of the present moment without judgement.

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Successful completion includes 54 hours programming minimum + 2 consecutive weeks negative urine drug streens + negative breathalyzer test when appropriate for treatment outcomes.

Mindfulness/Relaxation
Discussion, practice living & engaging in the present moment. A 3-min guided meditation prior to each activity / discussion. Topics range from gratitude, acceptance, trust, letting go, non-judgmental-ness, social skills, anger, anxiety, stress, relationships, pain. Focus on establishing body / mind balance.
