Dr. Robin Hemphill, MD, MPH, was appointed as the Chief of Staff for the Cincinnati VA Medical Center on August 31, 2020.
Dr. Robin Hemphill, MD, MPH, was appointed as the Chief of Staff for the Cincinnati VA Medical Center on August 31, 2020. Prior to her appointment, Dr. Hemphill served as the Chief Quality and Safety Officer and Associate Dean for Quality, Safety and Service at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia since 2017. Dr. Hemphill has also served as the Acting, Assistant Deputy Under Secretary, Office of Quality Safety, Value for the Veterans Health Administration where she oversaw a variety of important quality and safety programs and worked to significantly expand the ability to collect and report incidents that may lead to harm. Other VA leadership roles include a VA Central Office appointment as the Chief Patient Safety Officer and the Director of the VA National Center for Patient Safety from 2012-2017. She has held various other leadership positions including the Director, Quality & Safety at the Emory Department of Emergency Medicine in Atlanta, GA from 2008-2011 and the Associate Program Director and Director of Disaster Preparedness at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN from 1998-2008. Dr. Hemphill is an Air Force Veteran. She received a Medical Degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Master of Public Health from Vanderbilt University
