Chistopher Myhaver Named Medical Center Director of Truman VA
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) appointed Christopher Myhaver, MHA, FACHE, as medical center director of Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital effective April 9, 2023. Myhaver replaced former Truman VA director, Patricia Hall, PhD, FACHE, who recently was selected to serve as director of VA Heartland Network – VISN 15.
VA Heartland Network is one of 18 Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN). The Heartland Network is made up of seven health care systems, to include Truman VA and eight other VA medical centers, as well as 63 community-based outpatient clinics within the states of Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, and Arkansas.
“We are very excited to welcome Mr. Myhaver as Truman VA’s new medical center director,” Hall said. “His sound leadership qualities and proven experience are valuable assets that will benefit staff, volunteers, and most importantly, the Veterans we are honored to serve.”
Prior to joining Truman VA, Myhaver was interim medical center director of the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Some of his other leadership roles include serving as associate director of the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston and as deputy executive director of Business Operations and Administration within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Care in the Community. He joined VA in 2004.
Myhaver received a Master of Science degree in Health Care Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio and a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from Texas A&M University in College Station. He also is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
