Due to staff departures from the Salida VA Clinic, the clinic hours will temporarily be reduced starting on October 7. The new clinic hours will be Tuesday-Thursday from 9am-12pm and 12:30-3:30pm. Lab draw appointments will be available on Tuesday mornings only.

Mr. Travis serves as the Deputy Network Director (DND), VA Rocky Mountain Network (Veterans Integrated Service Network [VISN] 19).

As the Deputy Network Director performs as the chief operating officer (COO) and fulltime member of the senior management team, working daily with other executives to develop and implement long- and short-range policies in a highly complex health care delivery system. He is responsible for the operational management of VISN 19 and has full line decision-making authority under the Network Director.

Prior to joining VISN 19, Mr. Travis served as the Associate Director for the Alexandria VA Health Care System in Louisiana from December 2020 until January 2024. He also worked for the South-Central VA Healthcare Network (VISN 16) as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Network Director. Prior to his work for VISN 16, Mr. Travis served as the Deputy Director for the VHA Office of Medical Staff Affairs.

While performing duties and responsibilities for VISN 16, Mr. Travis served as the Acting Assistant Director at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center (Gainesville, Florida), the Acting Associate Director at the Veteran Health Care System of the Ozarks (Fayetteville, Arkansas) and the Acting Associate Medical Center Director at the Gulf Coast VA Health Care System.

His VA career began as a Radiation Therapist at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS where he achieved success in various duties and responsibilities to include Acting Quality Education Coordinator for Diagnostic Imaging, Acting Administrative Officer for Pathology and Laboratory Services, Supervisor of the Office of Credentialing and Privileging, and the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Staff.

As a graduate of the VISN16’s Leadership Development Institute, VA Healthcare Leadership Development program, Senior Executive Assessment Program, and the Federal Executive Institute, Mr. Travis is a strong proponent of developmental programs. He holds an Associate’s degree in Radiological Science, a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, and a Master’s degree in Health Administration with a concentration in Informatics. Mr. Travis is a board-certified member of the American College of Healthcare Executive and has achieved the distinguished Fellowship status. As a VHA certified mentor at the fellowship level, Mr. Travis has championed facility level developmental programs and served as a mentor and coach to VISN16’s Emerging VA Leader’s Program and Leadership Development Institute.
