Wilmington VA Health Care Center Vet Fest Features Car Show

PRESS RELEASE

August 16, 2024

Wilmington , NC — The Wilmington VA Health Care Center will host a Hotwheels and Heroes Car Show, Saturday, August 24, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1705 Gardner Road. Wilmington, N.C. The event is open to all!

The health center is joining a VA nationwide awareness campaign this summer to inform Veterans and families about PACT Act-related benefits and services. The event is the second of three Fayetteville VA Coastal health care system August events (and the only one hosted in Southeastern NC) each with different theme, resources, and activities focused on VA health care and other benefits.

The Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act, or PACT Act, expands VA health care eligibility and benefits for Veterans with toxic exposures during the Vietnam, Gulf War, and post-9/11 eras. This expansion of benefits covers many existing and new presumptive conditions stemming from Agent Orange, burn pits and other toxic exposures. To get the latest information and updates, visit VA.gov/PACT.

During the Hotwheels and Heroes event, visitors will get to view some of the areas hottest cars, fellowship with other car lovers and Veterans, learn more about the PACT Act, and talk to VA representatives and community partners who support our Veterans.

All roads lead to 1705 Gardner Road on Saturday, August 24.  See you there!  Tell a Veteran! Bring a Friend!
