Situation update

Friday, Apr 1, 5:30 p.m. EST

Updated Visitation Policy for VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System facilities.

The following guidelines have been established to ensure the safety of our Veterans and staff.

Veteran patients who are sick or suspected of having COVID should contact their primary care team before coming to the clinic for treatment or testing. If you are sick or suspected of having COVID, please help us to minimize risk of further infection by calling first before visiting any of our facilities.

We are a federal healthcare facility and do require that masks be worn at all times, regardless of vaccination status. Changes in state or community guidelines do not affect our posture. We are currently requiring medical masks (no cloth masks), covering the nose and mouth, and can provide one to you if needed. We  look forward to the time when we can relax these guidelines and know that we can only reach it through your diligence, respect, and cooperation.

Please social distance; stay 6 feet apart from other people. Visitors stay in patient’s room whenever possible. Smoking is not permitted on VA property. If you smoke, please bring nicotine replacement.

Thank you for helping us keep our Veterans and staff safe.
