Dr. Satish Annadata assumed the role of Chief of Staff at the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System in July 2023.

A distinguished triple board-certified physician, Dr. Annadata holds certifications in psychiatry and brain injury medicine from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as in addiction medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

With a deep, long-standing dedication to serving veterans, Dr. Annadata has held key leadership positions across numerous VA facilities. His roles have included staff psychiatrist in Salt Lake City (UT), section chief of outpatient psychiatry in Memphis (TN), deputy and interim chief of geriatrics and extended care in Iowa City (IA), and associate chief of staff for primary care and deputy chief of staff in Fort Harrison (MT). Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Annadata served as deputy and interim chief of staff at the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System.

In addition to his public sector experience, Dr. Annadata brings a wealth of expertise from the private healthcare sector. He has worked at UnitedHealth Group, a Fortune 5 Managed Care Organization, where he held prominent positions including Chief Medical Officer for United Healthcare and Senior Medical Director for Optum.

Dr. Annadata earned his MD from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India, followed by a psychiatry residency at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He further honed his skills with a visiting fellowship in electroconvulsive therapy at Duke University Medical Center and completed a Master of Public Health at Western Kentucky University. Additionally, he holds an MBA from the prestigious Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. His academic career includes serving as an assistant professor of psychiatry and as a dean’s medical scholar at the University of Utah School of Medicine. An advocate for healthcare innovation, Dr. Annadata is also a member of the advisory board for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Catalyst, an organization dedicated to developing cutting-edge solutions for pressing medical and healthcare challenges.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Annadata enjoys fly-fishing, off-roading, and hobby vineyard farming, reflecting his passion for both outdoor pursuits and nurturing growth.
