Satish Annadata, MD, MPH, MBA was appointed chief of staff of the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System in July 2023.
Dr. Annadata is a triple board-certified physician. He is certified in psychiatry and brain injury medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in addiction medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
He has a rich history of working with veterans. He has served at several VA facilities in multiple roles, including staff psychiatrist in Salt Lake City (UT), section chief of outpatient psychiatry in Memphis (TN), deputy and interim chief of geriatrics and extended care in Iowa City (IA), associate chief of staff for primary care and deputy chief of staff in Fort Harrison (MT), and, most recently, deputy and interim chief of staff in Finger Lakes (NY).
He has also worked in UnitedHealth Group, a Fortune 5 healthcare corporation. He served as a chief medical officer of behavioral health for United Healthcare and as a senior medical director of behavioral health for Optum.
Dr. Annadata earned his MD from the Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He completed a residency in psychiatry at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, followed by a visiting fellowship in electroconvulsive therapy at the Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Annadata also earned a Master of Public Health from Western Kentucky University and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He served as an assistant professor of psychiatry and as a dean’s medical scholar at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is an advisory board member of Massachusetts Institute of Technology Catalyst, a collaborative initiative sparking innovative and impactful solutions to unmet medical and healthcare needs.
He enjoys fly-fishing, off-roading, and hobby vineyard farming.
