Celebrating Veterans Day at VA Hospitals is an activity that the Soldiers’ Angels Home of the Brave campaign has been doing nationally since 2012, including at the Canandaigua VA.

Soldiers’ Angels is a National Veteran Service Organization.  Their Home of the Brave campaign is comprised of corporate employers and their employees who have joined the campaign and who work directly with their local VA Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) to show their gratitude for Veterans on or around Veterans Day.

Prior to the Pandemic, large groups of Home of the Brave members would take part in the activities celebrated here, bringing shirts, hats, and other items to give to Veterans, and to thank each one individually for their service.  While that has currently not been possible, the group still comes to visit prior to every Veterans Day to deliver their donations, and their “Thank You for Your Service” message.  2022 was no exception.

Included in the donation were 88 hygiene kits, assembled bags of shirts and caps for Veterans on all the Community Living Centers, and disposable razors.  Also donated were “blankets of stars”.

The Canandaigua VA is so pleased to have this great relationship with Home of the Brave, and we look forward to it continuing for years to come.
