Jeremiah Jackson, MPH, FACHE was appointed Associate Director of the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) in January 2026.
Mr. Jackson is also currently serving as the Acting Deputy Medical Center Director. As a member of the facility’s senior Executive team, he oversees and manage several critical administrative hospital operations, including HAS, SCM, Nutrition and Food Service, Privacy Office, Prosthetics Service, Managerial Cost Accounting, EMS , FMS, Financial Resource Management, Strategic Realization Service, HR, Police Service, Communication Office and dotted lined responsibility to VSC, ,OI&T, and Purchasing & Contracting.
Before taking on his current role, Mr. Jackson served as the Deputy Medical Care Line Executive with administrative oversight of 14 different clinical areas with over 1,000 FTEE and a $12M operating budget. Since joining MEDVAMC in 2006, he has held various positions and completed numerous VA leadership training courses.
His work has impacted VHA-wide, VISN-wide, and hospital-wide operations. Mr. Jackson chairs several hospital-wide committees that have streamlined operations and is actively involved in mentoring. Previously, he served as Acting Associate Director at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMC in Jackson, Mississippi.
Mr. Jackson holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Massachusetts. He possesses a black belt in Lean Six Sigma and is a graduate of the VHA Health Care Leadership Development Program. Additionally, he is a fellow of ACHE.
