Why VA Houston: I decided I wanted to stay in the VA system after doing a longitudinal APPE. I chose the MEDVAMC because I wanted the chance to work at a very diversified organization that places a strong emphasis on the incorporation of pharmacy services in healthcare practices as well as offers an array of elective options that cater to my interests.

The pharmacists are highly significant members of the healthcare team and are able to work to the highest scope of their licenses. Above it all, the preceptors showed a level of interest in my career and showed a true investment in my growth. Given my professional goals, I was certain that MEDVAMC was the ideal location for my residency.
