Dr. Na Su was appointed as Chief of Staff at the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center effective June 21, 2020.
In this position, she serves as an integral member of the leadership team for the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center in coordinating the delivery of safe, quality, and compassionate care to more than 25, 000 Veterans. She is responsible for the clinical activities at the 80-bed acute medical/surgical facility, and its outpatient clinics in West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. Her operating principles are quality, speed (urgency, thoughtfulness, and decisiveness), safety, and efficiency.
Prior to her appointment in Huntington, Dr. Su served as the Chief of Primary Care for the past 5 years at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center, OH and Marion VA Medical center, IL. She began her VA career in 2005 as an Ambulatory Care physician at the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor, MI for 10 years. Outside of her VA career, Dr. Su also served as a President of Leadership VA Alumni Association in 2018-2019.
Dr. Su completed Midwest Consortium Chief of Staff Orientation in April 2019, and Midwest Consortium Physician Management Orientation in October 2018. She is a graduate of Leadership VA 2017. She is Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certified since September 2016. She graduated from VISN 11 Leadership Development in May 2016. She has been a member of American College of Health Care Executive since November 2015. She is a Fellow Mentor, VHA since April 2015.
As a cardiologist from China, Dr. Su received a MD and Cardiology Fellowship from Henan Medical University, China. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Physiology, University of Western Ontario, Canada. She graduated from Family Medicine Resident Program from Medical College of Pennsylvania Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, PA. She also did her Geriatric Fellowship training from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI.
