Community Living Center at Jackson VA Rated 5-Stars for Staffing and Quality
The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center (VAMC) announces its Community Living Center (CLC) improvement to five stars in staffing and quality as part of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) CLC Compare.
A little over a year ago, the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMC CLC received an overall two-star rating through the CLC Compare rating system. Since then, the CLC has improved to an overall four-star rating, with staffing and quality measures both receiving five-stars.
The exceptional rise resulted from various actions and factors, from increased staff to continued education for the employees who provide care to our CLC residents.
“Our improvement to an overall four-star rated CLC reflects our staff’s unwavering commitment to the highest quality of care for the Veterans we so proudly serve,” said Kai Mentzer, G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMC Medical Center Director. “I am very proud of the care and services offered through our CLC and overjoyed that our star rating continues to show the strides of improvement we are making.”
CLC Compare is a mechanism used to benchmark VA CLCs against private sector nursing homes using a star rating system. The purpose of VA’s quality and staff measures is to show how well nursing homes throughout VA are addressing the physical and clinical needs of its residents and nurses’ hours per resident each day.
“Our 30-bed CLC is made to feel as much like “home” as possible for our residents,” said Mentzer. “Our goal is to continue improving and truly fulfill President Lincoln’s promise.”
