Here are the latest updates from VA Long Beach.

PROGRESS
From No Visitation to Limited Visitation

Given the lower level of COVID transmissions at the facility and in the community, VA Long Beach Healthcare System has transitioned its Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center from No Visitation to a Limited Visitation status effective February 9, 2022.

Visitation has been expanded to a maximum of two visitors per patient and up to 10 visitors per unit. Duration of visit is limited. Visitation must be essential to patient wellbeing and approved by the provider.

All visitors of indoor inpatient units and all vendors entering the facility indoors must provide the following upon entry into the facility:

  1. Photo identification
  2. Proof of being fully vaccinated (at least two weeks after completion of vaccination series) OR a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the visit. The negative COVID-19 test can be any FDA-approved PCR, NAT, or antigen test (cannot be a home-test result).

While the change is encouraging and comforting, we must continue to stay vigilant.
This visitation policy change is subject to change.

REMINDER
Mask

Only surgical masks and medical grade masks are permitted at VA Long Beach Healthcare System. Cloth masks, neck gaiters, bandanas, and masks with valves alone without a surgical mask are not allowed. Cloth masks alone are not enough to protect you from the highly contagious Omicron variant. We provide surgical masks at all entrances.
