Debra Hunt DNP, RN, VHA C-M

Debbie Hunt, DNP, RN, DNP RN, FAC P-PM, VHA C-M was appointed as the Associate Director for Patient Care Services in January 2016. As the Associate Director for Patient Care Services, Dr. Hunt is responsible for leading several administrative and clinical departments including Nursing Service; Telehealth; Education Service; Social Work Service; Chaplain Service; and Sterile Processing Service. She was a Replacement Hospital Activations team member 2012-2023 and held the position of Replacement Hospital Project Coordinator 2014-2023. Dr. Hunt has been at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center (VAMC) since 2005. She has served as the Associate Chief Nurse for Surgical Service and Chief Nurse Activations. Dr. Hunt has more than 39 years of nursing experience, including a diverse background in significant management assignments in health care. She held senior nursing roles in the private sector in large tertiary care settings for 20 years prior to coming to VA. Dr. Hunt received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Jefferson Community College in Louisville, Kentucky in 1985, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University Southeast in Indiana in 2001, Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2005, and Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama in 2014. Dr. Hunt is also adjunct faculty for the University of Phoenix.
