Student Nurse Technician
The student nurse technician's role is to develop experience and expertise in Veteran-centric nursing care in a supportive, supervised clinical setting.
Student nurse technicians deliver care to assigned Veterans while developing technical competencies required for the specific practice setting under the direct supervision of an RN preceptor.
Eligibility and Work Schedule
This position is part-time. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in a school of nursing that is accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. For more information, visit the United States Office of Personnel Management.
Conditions of Employment
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be at least 16 years old by closing date of vacancy announcement
- Subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use
- Selective service registration required for males over 18
- Must be accepted to or currently enrolled in a qualified educational institution
- You may be required to serve a probationary period
- Subject to background/security investigation
- Pre-employment physical
- Completion of online onboarding process
- Receive seasonal influenza vaccine
