Marion VA selects Dr. Craig T. Davis as Chief of Medicine Service

Marion , IL — Marion VA Health Care System selects Dr. Craig T. Davis as Chief of Medicine Service.

The Marion VA Health Care System is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Craig T. Davis as the new Chief of Medicine Service. Dr. Davis will lead a team of  over 50 Providers and Medicine Service Staff  who care for approximately 44,000 Veterans spread across Southern Illinois, Southwestern Indiana, and Western Kentucky. The Medicine Service consists of the following areas: Inpatient Hospitalists, Emergency Department Providers, Gastrointestinal, Cardiology, Respiratory Therapy, Pain Management, Hematology/Oncology, Nephrology, Neurology, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease and the Cancer Registrar. 

Dr. Davis is a Southern Illinois native who grew up in Anna, IL and now resides in Carbondale. He graduated from Duke University in 1995 and completed Medical School at the University of Illinois in 1999. He is a board-certified provider in Internal Medicine with his residency at the Indiana University in Indianapolis. Dr. Davis worked in private practice for 4 years and then as a Hospitalist at Duke University and SIH for 10 years before working as the System Director of  the SIH Hospitalists for the last 8 years. He is married with 4 children. His hobbies focus on his children’s activities, reading and yard work. 

When asked about working at the VA, Dr. Davis replied, “I came to the VA to honor my Veteran Grandfathers and to serve all the others who have sacrificed for our country.”
