Congratulations, VAMHCS Volunteers of the Year!

VAMHCS Volunteers of the Year

The VAMHCS Center for Development & Civic Engagement (CDCE) announces this year’s Volunteers of the Year.

Anthony Knight Is a driver and office volunteer with the Baltimore Volunteer Transportation Network (VTN). He worked 4-5 days per week to get the VTN running again after COVID.  For many months, he was the only driver and he would also work in the office to schedule and coordinate Veterans’ rides to their VA appointments.

Barb Rauscher started volunteering at Perry Point in 2021 as a Compassionate Contact Corps volunteer, and she remains in contact with her assigned Veteran on a regular basis. In 2022 she completed hospice training and continues to spend time with the Veterans undergoing hospice care. She also assists the CDCE office where she reviews, sorts and counts the multitude of cards received, as well as helping with mailings and other tasks.

Geoffrey Williams is an inpatient coffee cart volunteer at Loch Raven. The patients love to hear his jazz music as he brings them their favorite snacks and beverages! Geoffrey also goes over and above by donating many of the snacks to ensure that the Veterans have the snacks they love!
