PRESS RELEASE

June 24, 2024

HELENA , MT — The Montana VA is hosting its Annual Caregiver Summit from 9 a.m. to noon on June 27 at the Fort Harrison VA Medical Center recreation hall.

The mission of the Caregiver Support Program is to promote the health and well-being of family caregivers who care for our nations’ Veterans, through education, resources, support and services. This year’s theme is “Beyond the Caregiving Role: Seeing the ‘Whole’ Caregiver.”

To register for the event, caregivers can email the Montana VA Caregiver department at vamontanacaregivers@va.gov

“Caregivers are an important part of a Veterans health care,” said Montana VA Interim Executive Director Duane Gill. “We have plenty of resources available to support our caregivers, and this event is one of those valuable resources. We are looking forward to our annual event and the strengthening of these relationships.”

The in-person and virtual event begins with a 9 a.m. check-in followed by a Welcome ceremony. Throughout the day, caregivers will learn about Caregiver Support Program updates, analytics, respite care, and resources available to them. Attendees will also hear from keynote speaker, Joel Simpson, the Montana VA’s Caregiver Support Program coordinator.

For questions about attending, resources or other information, please email us at vamontanacaregivers@va.gov.
