Connect to your VA healthcare on federal holidays!
Fort Harrison VA Emergency Room open during federal holidays, 24/7
This is a reminder that our Montana VA outpatient clinics and administrative offices will be closed in observance of these federal holidays:
- Friday, November 10, Veterans Day (Observed)
- Thursday, November 23, Thanksgiving Day
- Monday, December 25, Christmas Day
The Fort Harrison VA Medical Center’s Emergency Department remains open 24/7, 365 days a week. Outside of the Helena area, please dial 911 or visit the closest emergency department in a life-threatening emergency.
If you need to speak with your VA care team on a federal holiday, the Clinical Contact Center provides 24/7, virtual care and support to Veterans enrolled for VA Health. To reach the Clinical Contact Center, call 406-442-6410.
Or, if you prefer to chat instead of calling, you can connect with your care team through the VA Health Chat App. The app is available for Android and IOS. You can learn more about VA Health Chat at https://mobile.va.gov/app/va-health-chat.
Please note that the VISN 19 Clinical Contact Center should not be used for emergency situations. If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, please call 9-1-1 or visit the closest emergency room.
For non-urgent, non-emergency matters, please know you can always communicate with your healthcare team via My HealtheVet Secure Messaging. You can manage prescription refills, schedule or cancel upcoming appointments, and access your healthcare records through My HealtheVet.
To use the Secure Messaging feature, you must have registered on My HealtheVet as a VA Patient and have a Premium account. Learn more about Upgrading to a Premium My HealtheVet Account.
If you do not have a My HealtheVet account, take time and Register Today. Do not forget to opt-in to receive email notifications for Secure Messaging.
Thank you for your service, and we are honored to serve you!
