JHQVAMC hosts VA2K Walk & Roll to promote healthy lifestyles

VA’s 13th annual VA2K Walk & Roll event returned May 17, 2023, at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, here, with goals of moving the body in support whole health and well-being, while also helping homeless Veterans.

Employees and the community participated in the free event which included a two-kilometer walk (1.24 miles) and yoga and meditation sessions.
 
To help area homeless Veterans, participants were encouraged to bring a donation such as clothing, toiletries, packaged food or bottled water. Donations collectedwill be distributed to local homeless Veterans.
 
Since 2011, more than $3 million in donations have been raised nationally to help homeless Veterans.
