Eric Jacobsen is the associate director at VA North Texas Health Care System.
Eric D. Jacobsen was appointed associate director at VA North Texas in Oct 2021, where he manages numerous administrative services and sections. He previously served as assistant director from Sept 2008 - Oct 2021.
Mr. Jacobsen began his career at VA at the Dallas VAMC in 1999 as a supervisory health system specialist and worked in a variety of leadership roles. In 2003, he accepted the position of budget officer at VA Heart of Texas Health Care Network 17 in Arlington, and in 2005, became executive assistant to the medical center director.
Mr. Jacobsen has chaired numerous high-level healthcare system and VISN committees and councils and he has served on several VACO committees and workgroups such as the VHA Community Care Revenue Transformation Team in the Office of the Deputy Undersecretary for Health for Community Care.
Mr. Jacobsen received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996 and completed a Master of Science in Health Care Administration at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas in 1999.
He is a graduate of VA’s Executive Career Field Training Program and is board certified in healthcare management and a fellow in ACHE with experience in healthcare operations, public health initiatives/crisis management, quality and performance metrics, provider networks, financial management, strategic and tactical planning, and improving patient satisfaction.
