VA Northern Indiana welcomes new medical center director

Beidelschies previously served as Deputy Network Director for Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 10, which oversees VA Medical Centers across Ohio, Michigan and Indiana since November of 2023.  Prior to this position, Beidelschies served as the Associate Director of Operations at the Edwards Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in suburban Chicago.

Beidelschies has extensive healthcare leadership experience. He was named Associate Director of Operations at Hines VA Hospital in April 2021, overseeing the daily operations of a Level 1A VA Medical Center serving over 57,000 unique Veterans annually.  He was previously appointed Assistant Director at Hines in 2019. In prior roles, he served as a Program Manager in the Veterans Health Administration Procurement & Logistics Office, overseeing the national policy, training, and human capital development of the 6,500+ person VHA Logistics/Supply Chain workforce.

Beidelschies has served in several acting leadership roles throughout his 15-year career in the Veterans Health Administration, including as acting Deputy Network Director, Veterans Integrated Service Network 10, acting Executive Director, VA Illiana Health Care System, and acting Associate Director at the Washington, DC, VA Medical Center. Beidelschies joined federal service in 2008 as a Presidential Management Fellow, serving as a Special Assistant to the Network Director in VISN 4. Beidelschies is board certified in healthcare administration as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School and has a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University. 

VANIHCS would also like to congratulate Anthony L Colón on his new role as permanent Director for the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Saginaw, Michigan. Colón had been serving as acting Director for VANIHCS since 2022.
